Parenting and Jewish Education
Parenting and education is perhaps the greatest responsibility we are tasked with in our life!
Judaism helps us do this in the most meaningful way.
Chabad of Stamford has many programs to help you throughout this journey.
As always, if you have any questions or are facing a challenge you would like to discuss please reach out to Rabbi Moshe at rabbimoshe@stamfordchabad.org or Leah at morahleah@stamfordchabad.org

The Upsherin
For the first three years of life, children absorb their parents’ love. Then, their education takes a leap—they are ready to produce and share their unique gifts. For a Jewish boy, this transition is marked with a haircutting ceremony—an “upsherin” (also called “upshernish” or “chalakah”)—on his third Jewish birthday. This is also the time when he begins to wear a kippah and tzitzit, the hallmarks of a Jewish male.

Bar and Bat Mitzvah
At the age of 12 for girls and 13 for boys, a Jews soul becomes fully intertwined with and connected to its body.
As well as this being a great celebration, it is also a responsibility, as a Jewish boy and girl becomes fully responsible for his/her Judaism and fulfillment of the Mitvzot.
Chabad of Stamford is here to provide your child with a Bar and Bat Mitzvah education, to prepare and gear up to this special milestone, concluding with a Bar or Bat Mitzvah celebration designed especially for you.
